The Lottery and Perils Of Indifference

This short story and speech talk about how the most ordinary of people can do the most savage and ruthless things to other human beings. These two pieces of writing are examples of how the most ordinary and sane people can be extremely violent and aggressive. Not thinking they would be doing the wrong thing at all, stoning and killing one another is just tradition. It seems like love and friendship are thrown aside during these brutal events. In the short story " The Lottery" Mrs. Delacroix said " Be a good sport, Tessie" Tessie is the unfortunate woman who has the infamous "black dot" on her paper. This quote makes me think. How are you suppose to " be a good sport" about getting stoned to death by your entire village. Friends, family... all put aside, as if you were a stranger, all alone. " I hope it's not Nancy," whispered one of Nancy's friends hoping that one of her best friends will be around to play.



In the speech " Perils of Indifference" it quotes "So much violence, so much indifference." talking about all the violent things we have done to each other as human beings. (ex. World Wars, Genocide, countless Civil Wars). Or even the brutal assassinations of the Kennedy's or Martin Luther King. People kill just because of ones skin colour or religion. Kults the "KKK" discriminate against African Americans. But the members inside those kults believe that they are doing nothing wrong, that that's the way it should be.

Top 3 Professional Golfers

Today I am going to tell who the top 3 golfers are and why. My criteria for these three players are based on wins and raw skill. Firstly, at the top of the list would have to be the one and only Tiger Woods. To start things off, in 2007 he was rated the highest paid athlete earning him over $122 million from winnings and endorsements. He has won 65 PGA tour events and is the fastest and youngest to win 50 tournaments on tour.Personally Tiger is my favorite to watch because he is so entertaining and clutch. Tiger makes the game of Golf look like a breeze. In second place is Mr. Sergio Garcia, with 7 PGA tour wins and 8 European tournament wins. Sergio was also the youngest to qualify in a European event. Lastly, in third place with 5 PGA tour wins and 14 European tour wins. He is Padraig Harrington. Super Power

If I had the chance to only choose one super power it would be to be able to fly. Having the ability to fly would make transportation enjoyably and timeless. You wouldn't have to purchase any sort of transportation tickets,simply because you can fly to wherever you want whenever you want. Secondly, you would be able to rescue any helpless citizens in distress giving you an super hero's reputation. Life would be much more enjoyable if I were able to fly. All in all, this would be the best super power.
